ALFONSO'S GALLERY, created in 1517, was among the most splendid of its time, but it had a short life. When Alfonso died childless in 1598, the city-state of Ferrara reverted to the Pope and the gallery contents were dispersed. This panorama was originally created in 1998 as a QuickTime VR experience. It has been restored using modern web technology. |
