How Cobalt violet is made:

In the lab
Materials needed: Cobalt(II)chloride (CoCl2·6H2O) and sodium hydrogenphosphate (NaH2PO4·10H2O)
Safety (MSDSs): cobalt(II) chloride (at Fisher Scientific)
Method: 2 g of cobalt chloride and 1,3 g of sodium hydrogenphosphate are each solved in 20 ml deionized water, the solutions are poured together and the resulting precipitate is filtered off.
